Project Description

Meet Fievel, the handsome, sensitive (and a little fiesty) senior guy. Born with a severe cleft palate, Fievel almost didn’t survive puppyhood. After a very special surgery, months of challenging care with his foster mom, Fievel beat the odds and made a full recovery! Once he was healthy, he moved to the sanctuary and became buddies with a dog named Casper. He’s been a resident of the sanctuary almost his whole life because he struggles meeting strangers. Because he’s been here so long, we’ve seen him become one of the most athletic, most energetic dogs through his adolescence, and now mature into a more easy-going, snuggle buddy with his volunteer friends. He lost his buddy Casper a few years ago, and handled the loss and grief with a really special courage. He’s incredibly smart, very sweet and always puts a smile on your face. He’s taught us a lot over the years and it’s been truly special being able to provide a full and wonderful life at the sanctuary. His favorite activities these days are car rides, naps, and playing gentley with his friends Red & Butters. Most mornings you’ll find him snuggled into his couch, sleeping in much longer than all the other dogs.
