Keep Me Home Project: Pet Retention Assistance Program

A companion program to Take Me Home, the Keep Me Home program aims to keep dogs out of the shelter through resources, education and intervention. Pet retention is a critical component of any compassionate community’s animal welfare strategy. Whether we are providing resources like fencing or food, or helping families with more challenging problems, we aim to keep pets with their families or find loving new homes. When difficult situations prevent families from keeping their pet, we offer support with careful rehoming, still preventing these dogs from entering the shelter system. This program  is one of our most labor intensive programs, but helps the animals, their families and reduces the burden on our public shelters.
